‘A Complete Yoga Workout for a Complete and Balanced Life’ presents a complete, well-organized 1-hour practice for users at all levels of experience, fitness, and flexibility. A wide range of poses are taught and modified to help both beginning and intermediate students experience the benefits of yoga. No matter how flexible you are this workout allows you to progress at your own pace. Fundamental postures are explained and demonstrated slowly with an emphasis on breathing, which is at the heart of traditional yoga practice. Rubio presents these concepts in an approachable and calming manner that adds to the overall relaxed feeling of this session. Julie begins the session with a gradual warm-up sequence to bring your focus to the breath and clear the mind. She then leads you through a complete sequence of neck and shoulder stretches, twists, forward and back bends, Sun Salutations, and balancing poses, with the proper technique of each pose explained clearly and concisely. The result is a workout that’s challenging but not overwhelming and that should stand up to plenty of repeated use. No equipment is required, but a sticky mat is recommended.

About the Actor
Julie Rubio is a certified yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga in California for seven years. She began her yoga practice 12 years ago while living in Hawaii. Her passion for yoga brought her to New York where she apprenticed at the Integral Yoga Institute in Greenwich Village. She then spent a year studying and teaching privately in London, UK. Returning to New York, she began study of prenatal and postpartum yoga at Integral while pregnant with her son. Later moving to Los Angeles, she gained recognition at Angel City Yoga teaching postpartum yoga classes. While there she began instruction of Hatha yoga classes throughout the Los Angeles area and received rave reviews. Starting in 1998 Julie began offering Hatha, prenatal, and postpartum classes in the San Francisco. With the encouragement of her students and colleagues, and drawing on her experience as an independent filmmaker, Julie produced ‘A Complete Yoga Workout for a Complete and Balanced Life’ in 2003.
